The UFC has reportedly contacted the FBI following allegations of unusual betting activity surrounding a fight at UFC Vegas 110. The bout in question involved featherweight Isaac Dulgarian, who was favored to defeat underdog Yadier del Valle, yet surprisingly lost in the first round by a rear-naked choke.
UFC Takes Immediate Action After Betting Red Flags
According to UFC President Dana White, the organization was alerted to irregular betting patterns by betting integrity monitoring firm IC360. Several large bets were placed on the fight before it began — causing suspicion.
“Literally, the first thing we did was call the FBI,” said White in an interview with TMZ.
White confirmed he met twice with the FBI on Tuesday to discuss the integrity concerns. The UFC also contacted Dulgarian and his lawyer before the fight and questioned whether he had been compromised or was dealing with any personal issues that could influence his performance.
Betting Company Refunds Bets After Shocking Loss
Following the first-round submission defeat, Caesars Sportsbook announced it would refund all bets placed on the fight — a rare move signaling serious concern over potential foul play.
The UFC released a statement emphasizing its priority on fairness and athlete safety:
“We are conducting a thorough review of the facts surrounding the Dulgarian vs del Valle bout… Nothing is more important than the integrity of our sport.”
Coach Denies All Allegations
Dulgarian’s coach Marc Montoya denied any wrongdoing during a statement to The Ariel Helwani Show, claiming they had no involvement in any gambling-related misconduct.
“I’ve never even placed a sports bet in my life,” Montoya said. “I would never, for any amount of money, sell my integrity.”
