The House of Representatives yesterday convened a marathon closed-door session lasting about three hours before resuming plenary proceedings.
Deputy Speaker Benjamin Kalu, who presided over the session, called for a motion to dissolve into an executive session again at 12:02 p.m.
The meeting reportedly addressed issues surrounding debts owed to indigenous contractors by the Federal Government.
Meanwhile, protesting contractors blocked the main entrance and exit gates of the National Assembly complex, demanding payment for completed projects. Their action halted vehicular movement, leaving staff and visitors stranded outside the premises.
Security operatives were deployed to manage the situation and restore order, as the contractors continued their protest to draw attention to their unpaid claims.
