2026 World Cup Playoffs: Gabon Unleashes Aubameyang, Bounaga on Super Eagles

Gabon head coach Thierry Mouyouma has announced a 26-man squad ahead of the 2026 FIFA World Cup playoff clash against Nigeria.

The squad was unveiled at a press conference in Libreville on Thursday and is led by captain Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Mario Lemina, and Dennis Bounaga.

Bounaga is Gabon’s top scorer in the qualifiers, netting eight goals, while veteran striker Aubameyang has contributed seven goals to the campaign.

The Panthers will face the Super Eagles in the semi-final of the playoffs at El Barid Stadium, Rabat, on Thursday, November 13, 2025.

Nigeria is aiming to secure qualification for the FIFA World Cup for the first time, while Gabon looks to make a strong statement with its star-studded lineup.
