
The Lagos State Government has announced traffic diversions ahead of the 10th edition of the Lagos Women Run, set to take place on Saturday, November 8, 2025, starting from 6:00 a.m.
Organised by the Lagos State Sports Commission (LSSC) in collaboration with event partners, the 10-kilometre race will commence at Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS) and conclude at Mobolaji Johnson Arena, Onikan.
Roads to Be Affected
According to Commissioner for Transportation, Oluwaseun Osiyemi, there will be partial road closures along these routes:
- Tafawa Balewa Square (TBS)
- Water Board
- Old NITEL
- Outer Marina
- Officers’ Mess
- Bonny Camp Bridge
- State House
- Ahmadu Bello Way
- Akin Adesola Street
- Falomo Bridge and Roundabout
- Awolowo Road
- Onikan Roundabout
- Mobolaji Johnson Arena
Traffic management personnel from the Lagos State Traffic Management Authority (LASTMA), the Police, the Federal Road Safety Corps (FRSC), and the Lagos State Neighbourhood Corps (LSNC) will be on duty to manage traffic flow and ensure the safety of participants and motorists.
Alternative Routes for Motorists
Motorists are advised to follow these detours:
- From Ozumba Mbadiwe to Third Mainland Bridge: Use Bonny Camp → Onikan Underpass → Marina Exit → Force Road → Outer Marina → Third Mainland Bridge.
- From Apongbon to Ikoyi: Take Odunlami Street → Igbosere Road → Moloney Street → Ikoyi Road.
Osiyemi urged drivers to remain patient, follow instructions from traffic officials, and noted that road closures are temporary and will be lifted progressively as the race moves along the route.
