US Lawmakers Urge Prince Andrew to Testify on Epstein Links Following Loss of Royal Titles

US Congress Requests Interview with Disgraced Former Prince

United States lawmakers have formally requested that Prince Andrew, Duke of York, sit for a transcribed interview regarding his ties to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein.

The request comes just a day after King Charles III officially stripped Andrew of his royal titles and evicted him from the Royal Lodge in Windsor. Andrew is now publicly referred to as Andrew Mountbatten Windsor.

“The committee is seeking to uncover the identities of Mr. Epstein’s co-conspirators and enablers and to understand the full extent of his criminal operations,” the letter from 16 Democratic members of Congress stated.

Lawmakers cited Andrew’s well-documented friendship with Epstein, urging him to provide information relevant to ongoing investigations into Epstein’s sex trafficking network. Andrew has been asked to respond by November 20, 2025.

Note: The US Congress cannot compel testimony from foreign nationals, making it uncertain whether Andrew will comply.

Context: Loss of Royal Titles

In late October 2025, King Charles III initiated a formal process to revoke Andrew’s royal status amid pressure following allegations of sexual abuse linked to Epstein. This marks one of the rare instances in British history that a prince has been stripped of his title—the last being in 1919, after Prince Ernest Augustus sided with Germany during World War I.

With the revocation, Andrew no longer holds the style “Royal Highness”, the title of Prince, or the Duke of York designation. He was also removed from the Royal Lodge and relocated to private accommodation.

Andrew had surrendered the Duke of York title earlier in October after the release of Virginia Giuffre’s posthumous memoir, which detailed allegations that Epstein trafficked her to have sex with Andrew on three occasions, twice when she was 17.

Andrew denies the allegations and has not faced criminal charges. In 2022, he settled a civil lawsuit with Giuffre for a multi-million-pound settlement.

Focus on Zorro Ranch and New Mexico Investigation

US lawmakers are also turning attention to Jeffrey Epstein’s Zorro Ranch in New Mexico, proposing a “truth commission” to investigate allegations of sex trafficking at the secluded property.

  • Epstein purchased the ranch in 1993, where survivors allege that sexual abuse occurred.
  • Lawmakers, including State Representatives Andrea Romero and Marianna Anaya, argued that decades of oversight failures allowed crimes to continue.
  • The proposed commission aims to determine what officials knew, what was reported, and how to prevent future abuses.

“Even after all these years, there are still questions about New Mexico’s role and accountability for survivors harmed,” Romero told the state legislature committee.

The initiative requires House approval when the New Mexico legislature convenes in January 2026.

Epstein Legacy and Continuing Legal Fallout

The US Congress and state officials are intensifying efforts to uncover the full scope of Epstein’s crimes:

  • Epstein died in prison in 2019 while awaiting trial for sex trafficking minors.
  • Virginia Giuffre’s memoir alleges coercion and intimidation, including Andrew allegedly ordering a smear campaign against her in 2011.
  • Democratic lawmakers emphasize investigating any efforts to silence victims in addition to Epstein’s criminal network.

The renewed scrutiny comes amid a turbulent period for Andrew, who is grappling with both legal and reputational consequences following decades-long allegations.
