Osun NNPP Sets Date for Governorship Primary Election

The New Nigeria Peoples Party (NNPP) has announced that its primary election to select the party’s candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship will hold on December 13, 2025.

The announcement was made by the state chairman, Mr. Tosin Odeyemi, in a statement on Friday in Osogbo. Odeyemi assured that preparations are underway for a smooth and successful primary.

He emphasized that the NNPP is not merely participating in the upcoming election but is determined to emerge victorious.

“We currently have at least four aspirants, with more expressing interest in joining the race. The 2026 governorship election will be a different ball game in Osun, and we are ready to spring surprises,” Odeyemi said.

The chairman described the NNPP as a “new bride” in the state, benefiting from divisions within the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) and the All Progressives Congress (APC). He expressed optimism that the party will be seen as a credible third force, capable of presenting a strong candidate who will enjoy widespread support from Osun voters.
