Millie Bobby Brown Filed Harassment and Bullying Claim Against David Harbour Before Stranger Things Season 5: Report

Report: On-Set Tensions Between Brown and Harbour

According to The Daily Mail, Millie Bobby Brown filed a harassment and bullying complaint against David Harbour before filming the fifth and final season of Stranger Things. The investigation reportedly “went on for months” prior to the cast returning to set.

The claim reportedly did not include any allegations of sexual misconduct. Brown, 21, was said to have a representative present on set during filming, which wrapped in December 2024. Reps for Netflix, Brown, and Harbour have not commented publicly.

Father-Daughter Dynamic on and Off Screen

On-screen, Harbour plays Jim Hopper, Eleven’s adoptive father, and their relationship has often mirrored real-life interactions. In 2018, Brown explained at PaleyFest that their dynamic involved expressing anger and frustration both on and off camera:

“We get angry at each other… those scenes were so raw and real that the reward is the scenes.”

Harbour has also previously described his connection with Brown as a parental and protective relationship. Speaking in 2021 on the That Scene with Dan Patrick podcast, Harbour said:

“Millie and I have always had sort of a special relationship because I knew her when she was so young… I have a real protective feeling for her, and I just always felt this kind of deep fatherly affection.”

Brown joined the series at age 11, and Harbour emphasized his concern for her well-being amid early fame and a high-pressure environment.
