Benji Madden, guitarist for Good Charlotte, recently opened up about his daughter Raddix’s budding music tastes during a joint appearance with his brother Joel Madden on the popular TikTok series Track Star. The show, which challenges participants to test their music knowledge, gave fans a rare glimpse into the musical preferences of Benji’s 5-year-old daughter, who he shares with actress Cameron Diaz.
Raddix Madden Is Already a Music Fan
During the episode, host Jack Coyne played Paramore’s hit song “Misery Business,” prompting Joel Madden, 46, to praise the band’s lead singer, Hayley Williams:
“Hayley is a star, man.”
Benji, 46, chimed in, revealing that his young daughter is already developing a taste for rock music:
“I have a daughter and she’s just getting [into] playing her stuff and whatever,” adding that Raddix “loves Paramore.”
Coyne then asked if Raddix was also a fan of Taylor Swift, and Benji confirmed she is, noting that she unfortunately couldn’t attend Swift’s Eras Tour due to her age.
Musical Influence Runs in the Family
Raddix isn’t the only young music fan in the Madden family. Joel Madden shared that his teen daughter, Harlow, 17, attended the Eras Tour and enjoyed the experience. Joel, who shares Harlow and Sparrow, 16, with Nicole Richie, remarked on the ticket prices:
“That s— was expensive, bro.”
Benji and Cameron Diaz, who tied the knot in January 2015, have been intentionally keeping their children out of the public eye while giving fans occasional glimpses into their lives. The couple welcomed Raddix in December 2019 and their son, Cardinal, in March 2024.
Cameron Diaz Shares Early Musical Moments
In a July 2020 interview on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon, Diaz described the couple’s excitement over their daughter’s early music interests, calling Raddix “the best thing that ever happened to both Benj and me.”
The actress revealed that Raddix loved classic children’s songs like “Baby Shark” and “Elmo’s Song,” and was open to exploring new genres. Diaz shared a fun anecdote about car rides with Benji:
“When we go on car drives, Benj will put on some Cuban, Afro-Cuban music, and she is in her car seat and her little legs are kicking … and I’m like, ‘Yep, that’s my girl!’”
In addition, Diaz told Rolling Stone that Benji had written several original songs for their daughter:
“We got ‘Baby Shark’ in the mix and of course Benj has written at least a dozen songs for [Raddix]. So we are doing serious upbeat and often a capella jams over here.”
