‘Tinubu Inherited This Problem’ – Adeboye on Trump’s Threat

The General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), Pastor Enoch Adeboye, has addressed the escalating security crisis in Nigeria, following US President Donald Trump’s designation of the country as a “Country of Particular Concern (CPC)” over alleged massacres of Christians.

Trump’s designation included a warning that the US military could intervene if the Nigerian government fails to take decisive action against the perpetrators. While the move sparked widespread outrage in Nigeria, most Christian leaders remained largely silent.

Speaking during the November Holy Ghost Service on Friday night, Adeboye urged Nigerians to avoid blaming the current administration, noting that President Bola Tinubu inherited the security challenges.

“This is not the time for apportioning blame. Our President inherited this problem — it started before him,” he said.

However, the clergyman called on the federal government to immediately eliminate terrorists and their sponsors, especially in light of the potential US military involvement.

Adeboye also warned that if the US were to intervene militarily, other global powers such as China and Russia would likely not come to Nigeria’s aid, stating, “They would only talk.”

He advised President Tinubu to give the newly appointed service chiefs a three-month ultimatum to eradicate criminal elements and their financiers.
