All Progressives Congress (APC) youths, women, and party leaders across Oyo State’s 33 local government areas received a total of N100 million in economic relief on Saturday, courtesy of the Minister of Power, Chief Adebayo Adelabu, through his Bayo Adelabu Foundation (BAF).
Adelabu, a 2027 governorship aspirant under the APC in Oyo State, assured party members and residents that he is committed to serving the state. He also pledged that more empowerment programs would be rolled out once the APC returns to power in 2027.
Describing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as “tenants” in Agodi Government House, Adelabu emphasized that the APC is the rightful owner and will reclaim leadership of the state. “Oyo belongs to the progressives; we are the landlords. We are going back to Agodi Government House in 2027,” he stated.
He further urged party members to remain united at ward, local government, and state levels to secure victory in the 2027 governorship election.
Dr. Stephen Lafenwa, a guest lecturer from the Department of Political Science at the University of Ibadan (UI), praised the APC’s focus on empowering youths, women, and party leaders. He noted that political parties that invest in their members’ welfare are more likely to gain public trust and emerge victorious. Dr. Lafenwa encouraged beneficiaries to use the empowerment funds responsibly to improve their livelihoods.
Representing the Oyo APC Chairman, the party Secretary, Alhaji Tajudeen Olanite, expressed pride in Adelabu’s initiative, saying it demonstrated that the APC has regained strength and is committed to serving the people of Oyo State.
