Nestoil Limited has categorically rejected recent allegations circulating on certain online platforms and social media, describing them as “defamatory, malicious, and unsubstantiated.” The indigenous oil and gas company, in a statement from its Corporate Communications Department, emphasized that claims suggesting bribery or judicial interference are completely baseless.

“At no time has Nestoil sought to undermine justice or influence public or judicial officers unethically. We have always adhered to due process and the rule of law, and will continue to do so,” the company stated.

Nestoil further clarified that it has never engaged in improper payments or attempted to subvert judicial processes. The company addressed recent misrepresentations surrounding legal proceedings involving First Bank of Nigeria (FBN) entities, noting that an ex-parte order was issued against Nestoil, its affiliate Neconde Energy Limited, and certain executives without prior notice or participation. The company described the misuse of this temporary order to create a false impression of a corporate takeover as “deliberate and misleading.”

The company also accused FBN-related entities of exceeding the intent of the order by allegedly damaging third-party assets and sponsoring misleading reports, calling these actions a “blatant disregard for the judicial process” and part of a wider campaign to spread misinformation.

Nestoil affirmed that it has taken appropriate legal measures to protect its reputation, insisting that its operations have remained lawful and transparent. “These false narratives are not only unjust but lack any factual or legal basis,” the company said.

The statement urged the media, stakeholders, and the public to rely on verified information and ignore sensational or anonymous reports, warning that such misinformation undermines trust in both the judiciary and corporate governance.

Reiterating its readiness to pursue legal action against those spreading false claims, Nestoil emphasized its ongoing commitment to transparency, accountability, and ethical business practices. “Nestoil is guided by the highest standards of integrity and will continue to operate within all legal and regulatory frameworks while defending its reputation through lawful means,” the statement concluded.
