Tinubu Focused on Freeing Nigeria’s Resources from Foreign Exploitation – Bisi Akande

Former APC National Chairman, Bisi Akande, has praised President Bola Tinubu for his efforts to safeguard Nigeria’s resources from illegal foreign exploitation and strengthen the nation against internal and external threats.

Speaking in Ado Ekiti, Ekiti State, during a lecture titled “Governance, Structural Reforms and the Economic Landscape of Nigeria in the 21st Century” at the maiden edition of the Joel Babatola Annual Lectures, Akande emphasized that Tinubu is prioritizing human capital development, particularly in science and technology, to equip young Nigerians for the future.

Akande stated that the president’s agenda focuses on:

  • Strengthening national unity against indigenous saboteurs and neo-colonialist influences.
  • Protecting Nigerian resources from illegal foreign exploitation.
  • Expanding infrastructure, especially in transportation and electricity, through partnerships between the private sector and government tiers.
  • Supporting agriculture and industrial processing to enhance the movement of goods between rural and urban areas.

The remarks come amid tensions following a threat by US President Donald Trump regarding military action in Nigeria in response to reports of attacks on Christians in the Northern region. Akande noted that Tinubu’s policies aim to shield Nigeria from both internal sabotage and external pressures.
