BREAKING: NAHCON announces reduction in Hajj fare

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON) has announced a significant reduction in the Hajj fare for the 2026 pilgrimage, following a directive from President Bola Ahmed Tinubu. The move is expected to provide substantial financial relief for Nigerian pilgrims across all operational zones.

According to NAHCON, the revised fares reflect reductions of up to N792,943.83 compared to the 2025 Hajj fare, depending on the pilgrim’s departure zone.

  • Southern Zone: Fare reduced by N792,943.83, now set at N7,991,141.76 (down from N8,784,085.59)
  • Northern Zone: Fare reduced by N760,915.83, now N7,696,769.76
  • Borno and Adamawa Zone: Fare reduced by N748,104.63, now N7,579,020.96

NAHCON also announced that December 5, 2025, is the deadline for Hajj payment.

The commission’s announcement aligns with ongoing efforts to make the annual pilgrimage more accessible to Nigerian Muslims while maintaining quality and safety standards during the journey.
