Nigerian Air Force Strikes ISWAP and Bandit Hideouts Across North East and North West

The Nigerian Air Force (NAF) has conducted precision air strikes that killed several Islamic State West Africa Province (ISWAP) terrorists in Mallam Fatori and Shuwaram, Borno State, while also destroying bandit enclaves in Kwara and Katsina States.

Air Commodore Ehimen Ejodame, NAF spokesperson, stated that the operations, carried out on Sunday, November 10, were guided by real-time Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) feeds. The strikes targeted ISWAP elements mobilising via motorcycles and boats along the Lake Chad Basin, destroying insurgent hideouts, logistics hubs, and weapons storage facilities. Post-strike assessments confirmed multiple neutralisations and a significant degradation of ISWAP’s operational networks.

Simultaneously, air interdiction missions in Garin Dandi and Chigogo (Kwara State), and Zango Hill (Kankara, Katsina State), successfully struck bandit camps, causing panic and heavy losses among criminal elements. The Katsina operation was described as one of the most decisive strikes against bandits in the North West in recent times.

Under Operation FANSAN YAMMA, NAF conducted armed reconnaissance across Zamfara, Kebbi, and Kaduna States, targeting settlements and routes frequently used by armed groups. Suspected terrorists on motorcycles were neutralised near Wam Hill, with no further hostile activity reported.

The success of these operations, according to the NAF, reflects the renewed tempo and intelligence-driven approach following directives from Chief of Air Staff, Air Marshal Sunday Kelvin Aneke. The Air Force emphasised its commitment to delivering smarter, precision airpower to protect citizens and enhance national security.
