Tinubu Mourns Former Supreme Court Chief Registrar, Justice Dodo

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has expressed deep sorrow over the passing of retired Justice Mukhtar Muhammad Dodo, a former Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court, who died on Sunday at the age of 70.

In a statement issued on Monday by his Special Adviser on Information and Strategy, Bayo Onanuga, the President described Justice Dodo as an upright and fearless officer of the law whose decades of service left a lasting imprint on Nigeria’s judiciary.

A native of Katsina State, Justice Dodo had a distinguished legal career. He served as Chief Registrar of the Supreme Court of Nigeria before being elevated to the bench as a judge of the High Court of the Federal Capital Territory, where he continued contributing to the development of the nation’s justice system until his retirement.

President Tinubu hailed the late jurist as a patriotic Nigerian dedicated to strengthening judicial institutions and upholding the rule of law, adding:
“Justice Dodo was an upright judicial officer and a fearless jurist who spent his life contributing to the strengthening of Nigeria’s judicial system.”

He prayed for the repose of Justice Dodo’s soul and asked Allah to grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss, extending condolences to the government and people of Katsina State as well as the Dodo family.
