A 26-year-old Palestinian man was killed during a raid by Israeli forces on the Far’a refugee camp, located south of Tubas town in the occupied West Bank, according to Palestinian authorities.
The Palestinian Ministry of Health reported that Abdel Rahman Darawsha succumbed to gunshot wounds sustained when Israeli troops stormed the camp late Saturday night, firing live ammunition during the operation. He was transported in a Palestine Red Crescent ambulance to Tubas Governmental Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Details of the Israeli Raid
Israeli forces deployed infantry units at the camp’s entrance and conducted targeted operations that extended to other areas, including Jenin, Ramallah, and the northern part of occupied East Jerusalem. The Wafa news agency cited eyewitness accounts confirming the use of live fire and the presence of heavily armed personnel during the raids.
The incident in Far’a comes amid a broader surge in violence across the occupied West Bank, particularly targeting Palestinian civilians and communities.
Escalating Settler Violence
Separately, a group of about 50 Israeli settlers attacked a Bedouin community in the east of Jaba village, near East Jerusalem. The settlers injured seven Palestinians and burned properties, causing significant material damage, according to Wafa.
Another Palestinian was wounded in a settler attack in Umm al-Khair village, south of Hebron. These incidents underscore a wider pattern of settler-related violence in the region.
The United Nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (OCHA) noted that October 2025 saw the highest number of settler attacks in the West Bank since tracking began in 2006, with over 260 recorded incidents—an average of eight attacks per day—resulting in injuries and property damage.
Rising Violence in Palestinian Territories
Violence in the West Bank and Gaza has intensified since the outbreak of the Gaza conflict in October 2023, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry. Over the past two years, more than 1,000 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces or settlers. Meanwhile, Israeli authorities report that 43 Israelis, including soldiers, have been killed in attacks carried out by Palestinians in the same period.
The combination of military raids, settler attacks, and ongoing clashes highlights the persistent instability in the occupied territories and the humanitarian and security challenges faced by both Palestinians and Israelis.
