The National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) has sanctioned 32 corps members of the 2024 Batch C Stream I serving in Osun State with service extensions, while 29 others were declared absconded.
The sanctions were announced during the passing-out ceremonies held across the state’s local government areas on Tuesday, where 1,485 corps members received their Certificates of National Service. The NYSC stated that the penalties were imposed in accordance with its bye-laws.
The Osun NYSC State Coordinator, Agbor Ndoma Obim, commended the corps members for their discipline, resilience, and commitment throughout the service year. Represented by Aleshinloye Lukman, Assistant Director of Skills Acquisition and Entrepreneurship Development (SAED), Obim advised corps members to avoid night travels and keep their families informed of their movements for safety reasons.
“I encourage you to make the most of post-service opportunities. Remain purposeful, proactive, and forward-thinking in your pursuits,” Obim said.
At Osogbo Local Government, Caroline Adenle, Assistant Director of Human Resources Management, congratulated the outgoing corps members and urged them to uphold the ideals of the NYSC — patriotism, integrity, and selfless service to humanity. She also emphasised personal safety, civic responsibility, and continued contribution to national development.
“Remain patriotic, disciplined, and productive citizens as you move beyond service,” Adenle advised.
