Edo Has Recorded Remarkable Progress in One Year, Says Deputy Governor Idahosa

Edo State Deputy Governor, Dennis Idahosa, has said that the state has achieved significant progress across key sectors under Governor Monday Okpebholo’s administration in the past one year.

Speaking at a colloquium marking the governor’s first year in office, Idahosa described the past 12 months as a period of transformation and renewed hope for the people of Edo State.

He said Governor Okpebholo embarked on a mission to reposition Edo State through strategic reforms, infrastructural renewal, and people-centered governance.

Strategic Reforms and Developmental Gains

According to Idahosa, the administration’s strategic interventions, improved intelligence coordination, and strong political will have delivered visible results in infrastructure, education, healthcare, agriculture, and security.

“We have taken bold steps to reform our systems, strengthen institutions, and empower our people,” he said.

He added that the government has remained committed to transparency, accountability, and good governance, ensuring that every policy and project serves the collective interest of Edo citizens.

Partnerships Driving Edo’s Growth

The deputy governor noted that collaboration has been central to the administration’s progress.

“We have built enduring partnerships with development agencies, the private sector, and other stakeholders to leverage resources, expertise, and innovation that drive sustainable growth in our state,” he said.

He emphasized that these partnerships are helping Edo State attract new investments and improve service delivery in all sectors.

Addressing Challenges and Sustaining Reforms

While celebrating the government’s achievements, Idahosa acknowledged the lingering challenges of poverty, unemployment, and infrastructure deficits inherited from previous administrations.

“We are not deterred. With determination and people-oriented policies, the Okpebholo administration remains resolute in building a better Edo State,” he said.

He reaffirmed the government’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business, ensuring an investor-friendly environment, and creating more economic opportunities for residents.

Looking Ahead

Idahosa expressed optimism that the next phase of the administration will consolidate on the gains recorded so far, particularly in the areas of education, healthcare, agriculture, and security.

“Our vision is clear — to build a prosperous Edo where every citizen enjoys access to quality education, healthcare, and economic opportunity,” he concluded.
