Haryana Police Arrest Wanted Offenders in Two Cases Amid Statewide Crackdown

Chandigarh, November 12, 2025 — Haryana Police on Wednesday announced the arrest of wanted offenders in two separate cases from Sonipat and Kaithal districts as part of the statewide initiative, “Operation Crackdown”.

Launched a week ago to target organised crime and absconding criminals, the operation has already resulted in 262 hardened criminals and 1,398 other accused being taken into custody, officials said.

Sonipat Murder Case

On July 27, a CRPF jawan named Krishna, who was on leave, was shot dead in Sonipat district. Sadar Gohana police have now arrested the two main accused, Nishant and Ajay, both residents of Kheri Damkan, each carrying a reward of ₹5,000.

The murder reportedly stemmed from a long-standing rivalry that began during a quarrel in the Kanwar Yatra. Three other accused had already been arrested earlier. Both Nishant and Ajay have criminal backgrounds with multiple cases of attempted murder and violations under the Arms Act registered against them.

Kaithal Proclaimed Offender Arrest

Under “Operation Trackdown”, Kaithal Police apprehended Hansraj, a resident of Serdha village, who had been absconding since 2017 in a molestation case. He was declared a proclaimed offender (PO) by a court on August 6, 2017, after failing to appear following bail and going underground.

Investigations revealed that Hansraj had over 15 serious criminal cases registered against him across Kaithal, Panipat, Jind, and Hisar, including theft, molestation, murder, robbery, dacoity, and Arms Act violations.

Impact of the Campaign

Haryana Police said these operations have significantly weakened organised crime networks in the state and strengthened public trust in law enforcement. Authorities reaffirmed that “Operation Trackdown” will continue until the roots of crime are completely eradicated from the state.
