Coventry’s Frank Lampard Named EFL Championship Manager of the Month

Coventry City head coach Frank Lampard has been awarded the EFL Championship Manager of the Month for October 2025, following a superb run of form that has propelled the Sky Blues to the top of the league table. Lampard, appointed in November 2024, has now won 28 of his 50 games in charge, solidifying his reputation as one of the Championship’s most influential managers.

Coventry’s Stellar October Performance

The Sky Blues enjoyed a remarkable month in October, securing 15 points from a possible 18 with victories in five out of six matches. During this period, Coventry scored 18 goals, showcasing an attacking style that impressed both fans and pundits.

Since the start of November, Coventry have continued their momentum, stretching their lead at the top of the Championship to five points following consecutive wins. Lampard praised his squad’s collective effort, saying:
“I would like to thank all the staff and all the playing squad because you can’t win the individual awards without the hard work of everybody. It’s been a really good month, and now we need to continue the hard work going forward.”

Double Celebration for Coventry

Coventry’s success was further highlighted as striker Brandon Thomas-Asante claimed the Championship Player of the Month award. The 26-year-old Ghanaian forward is currently the joint top-scorer in the Championship with 10 goals, six of which came during October. Thomas-Asante expressed his delight, calling the award “super happy” and praising the support of Lampard and the coaching staff.

Danny Wilson, chair of the judging panel, described Coventry as a “fantastic team to watch,” praising the team’s freedom and attacking style, which Lampard encourages. The combination of Lampard’s tactical acumen and Thomas-Asante’s goal-scoring form has been key to Coventry’s rise to the top of the table.

Coventry Eye Premier League Promotion

Coventry City’s next test comes on 22 November against West Bromwich Albion, following the international break. The club is pushing for promotion to the Premier League for the first time in 25 years, with Lampard’s leadership central to their ambitions.

With consistent performances, a potent attack led by Thomas-Asante, and Lampard’s managerial expertise, Coventry City is emerging as one of the Championship’s most compelling promotion contenders this season.
