Rosamund Pike Recalls Hilarious Filming Moment with Pierce Brosnan in Die Another Day

Rosamund Pike shared a hilarious behind-the-scenes story from the set of the 2002 James Bond film Die Another Day with Pierce Brosnan and Halle Berry. In a recent appearance on David Tennant’s podcast, Pike, who played the Bond girl Miranda Frost, recalled a funny and somewhat embarrassing moment during the filming of a love scene.

At just 22 years old, Pike found herself in a rather unusual situation while filming an intimate moment with Brosnan, who portrayed the iconic 007. The scene was shot on a bed covered with faux furs, and Pike was wearing nipple covers secured with tape.

In her recounting, Pike described a moment of panic when, after a passionate clinch with Brosnan, she looked at the body tape and nipple covers—only to find them covered in hair. “I thought, ‘Oh my God, I’m waxing Pierce’s chest,’” she admitted, recalling her initial shock.

Pike, mortified by the thought that she was causing her co-star pain, shared her relief after a few takes when she realized the “chest hair” wasn’t actually Brosnan’s. It turned out to be the fake fur from the rugs used in the scene.

The Gone Girl actress couldn’t help but laugh at her misunderstanding, saying, “I literally thought I was waxing the poor man’s chest.”

This was Pike’s first major blockbuster role, which eventually led to her successful career in films such as Jack Reacher (2012) and Saltburn (2023). Brosnan, who starred as Bond in Die Another Day and other Bond films like GoldenEye (1995), Tomorrow Never Dies (1997), and The World Is Not Enough (1999), also shared the set with the actress for their unforgettable scenes.

It seems that even on a high-stakes Bond set, a bit of humor was just around the corner!
