
Troops of the Joint Task Force Operation Enduring Peace have recovered a significant cache of weapons and ammunition in Plateau State following a raid on a suspected gunrunners’ hideout.
In a statement on its verified Facebook account on Friday, Major Samson Nantip Zhakom, Media Information Officer of the force, said the operation took place on November 13, 2025, in Fashoron Village, Daffo District, Bokkos Local Government Area.
According to the statement, the suspects fled before the troops arrived. However, authorities recovered:
- 1 AK-47 rifle with magazine
- 1 sub-machine gun
- 2 Dane guns
- 42 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition
- 84 rounds of 9mm ammunition
- 20 cartridges
- 6 mobile phones
- ₦330,000 in cash
All recovered items are now in custody, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the suspects.
Major Zhakom affirmed that the Joint Task Force remains committed to tackling criminal activities in the region, particularly the illegal circulation of weapons and ammunition.
