Lack of Education Affected Me, Says Veteran Actor Ojoge

Veteran Nigerian actor Sesan Adio, popularly known as Ojoge, has revealed that his limited formal education has significantly impacted his life and career.

Speaking on a recent YouTube podcast, Ojoge explained that although he displayed early academic brilliance, circumstances beyond his control led him to drop out of school after Primary 5.

He recounted a memorable incident from his early schooling:

“I was in Primary 2 when a teacher in Primary 3 asked me how many feet make one foot. I said 3. He was impressed and took me to his class to flog all my seniors in Primary 3 because they didn’t know it,” Ojoge recalled.

The young Ojoge’s early recognition, however, brought unintended consequences.

“Two of my neighbours told everyone what happened, and the elders came to our house to congratulate my mother, unaware that it was fake love. After that period, every time I was to resume school, I would fall sick. My parents tried everything, even sending me to Ibadan to live with my mother’s sibling, but all I could manage was to study up to Primary 5 before dropping out.”

Reflecting on his journey, Ojoge said,

“I believe that lack of education is what has affected me this much.”

Despite his limited schooling, Ojoge has carved a niche for himself in the Nigerian entertainment industry, earning recognition for his comic roles and contributions to Nollywood.
