Frank Papas Mourns Mother with Emotional Tribute

Franklin Emenike Okamigbo, popularly known as Frank Papas, has announced the passing of his mother, Lady Adaeze Asa Black Nnem, in a heartfelt tribute that highlighted her role as his teacher, confidant, and “wingwoman.”

In his moving message, Okamigbo expressed gratitude for his mother’s wisdom, care, and sacrifices, describing her as “the strongest person I’ve ever met—extremely intelligent, cheerful, and an extraordinary grassroots organiser.” He signed off the tribute with love on behalf of his family, noting that burial details would be shared soon.

Lady Adaeze Asa Black Nnem was remembered as a religious and cultural leader, a bookkeeper, and a problem-solver who helped everyone regardless of background.

Frank Papas, a pioneering figure in Nigeria’s nightlife scene, rose to fame in the mid-2000s with Club Papas, an innovative movable entertainment concept. His breakthrough came with Papas at K’s Place in Victoria Island, Lagos, which cemented his reputation as a creative force. He later expanded his brand through Papas at The Place, becoming a respected and celebrated figure in the industry.

Beyond the glitz and music, his tribute offered a glimpse into his private world—one shaped by gratitude, culture, and the values instilled by his late mother.
