Musician Raghu Dixit, the acclaimed frontman of the Raghu Dixit Project, has found love again at 50. He is set to marry Grammy-nominated singer and flautist Varijashree Venugopal, 34, in a private ceremony later this month, confirmed Raghu in an interview with Bangalore Times. The couple has kept the exact date and venue under wraps.

From Friendship to Love

Raghu revealed that their relationship began as a close friendship, which gradually blossomed into romance. “What began as a strong friendship naturally evolved into love and companionship. We share similar interests and connect deeply. With the blessings of Varijashree’s parents, we are excited to begin this new chapter of our lives together,” he shared. Raghu described the experience as grounding, reflecting on the personal ups and downs he has faced in life. “I honestly did not see this coming. I had prepared myself to be single and alone for the rest of my life, but life had other plans,” he added.

Recognizing Varijashree’s Talent

Earlier this year, Raghu publicly acknowledged Varijashree’s Grammy nomination on Instagram, referring to her as a friend. She was nominated in the Best Global Performance category for her collaboration on Jacob Collier’s song A Rock Somewhere from the album Jesse 4, which also features Indian musician Anoushka Shankar. Raghu praised her as a “truly path-blazing artist from Bengaluru,” expressing pride in her achievement.
