BREAKING: Parents of Students Studying Abroad Block Finance Ministry Over Unpaid Allowances

Parents of Nigerian students studying abroad on government scholarships blocked the entrance of the Federal Ministry of Finance in Abuja on Monday.

The protesters are demanding the payment of outstanding allowances owed to their children.

According to the parents, their children—beneficiaries of various bilateral education agreements and scholarship schemes—have not received stipends for 16 months, while an additional eight-month shortfall remains unresolved.

The demonstration highlights growing frustration over delays in the disbursement of funds meant to support students’ education overseas.
