Mumbai, Nov 17, 2025 — A 24-year-old French woman working with the Consulate of France in Mumbai was allegedly molested by a scooterist on Saturday while walking along Sherly Rajan Road in Bandra.

Incident Details

• The accused, 25-year-old Sunil Vishni Waghela, allegedly approached the victim on his scooter, touched her inappropriately, and fled.
• The woman promptly filed a complaint at Khar Police Station, leading to a case registered under Section 74 of the Bharatiya Nyay Sanhita, 2023, which deals with outraging a woman’s modesty.

Police Investigation and Arrest

• Mumbai police tracked Waghela through a series of CCTV cameras, piecing together his movements from Bandra to Dharavi within 24 hours.
• Officers confirmed his identity, located him in Dharavi, and arrested him on Monday.
• The motorcycle used during the offence was also seized and will be presented as evidence.
• Police have stated that Waghela will be produced before a magistrate without delay, along with all collected evidence.
