Edo PDP Demands Clarification on $250 Million Glasgow Investment from Governor Okpebholo

The Edo State chapter of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) has called on Governor Monday Okpebholo to provide a detailed account of the $250 million investment he claims to have secured from Glasgow.

The PDP also criticized the governor’s alleged verbal attacks on opposition leaders, describing such behaviour as unbecoming of his office.

In a statement, Edo PDP Publicity Secretary Daniel Osa-Ogbegie said the reported investment has become a source of concern and embarrassment for Edo residents. He questioned the apparent neglect of projects initiated during Governor Godwin Obaseki’s tenure and stressed the need for transparency and accountability in fiscal management.

“Where government policies genuinely improve the lives of Edo citizens, we will support them. But where governance lapses into oppression, waste, or deception, we will stand firmly with the people,” Osa-Ogbegie said.

He urged Edo politics to rise above personal attacks and focus on issues such as the economy, infrastructure, fiscal management, and citizen welfare. He warned that insults toward opposition figures will no longer go unchallenged.

“If the government believes in its policies, it should defend them with facts and substance, not invectives,” Osa-Ogbegie added.
