Ajibade and Nnadozie Nominated for Women’s Player of the Year at CAF Awards 2024

Super Falcons stars Rasheedat Ajibade and Chiamaka Nnadozie have earned nominations for the prestigious 2024 CAF Women’s Player of the Year award. They are among the ten players shortlisted for the honor, recognizing their exceptional performances over the past year.

Both Ajibade and Nnadozie were integral members of the Super Falcons squad that competed in the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris, where they showcased their talent on the global stage. In addition to their international achievements, the two players also made significant contributions at the club level.

Ajibade played a pivotal role in helping Atlético Madrid secure third place in the Spanish Iberdrola league during the 2023/24 season, cementing her status as one of the top talents in European club football. Meanwhile, Nnadozie’s stellar performances for Paris FC in France’s Division 1 Féminine helped the club secure qualification for the UEFA Women’s Champions League, further solidifying her reputation as one of the best goalkeepers in the game.

Nnadozie’s exceptional form was also recognized at the 2023 CAF Awards, where she was named the Best Goalkeeper, a testament to her consistent excellence between the posts. Last year, the award was claimed by Asisat Oshoala, but this year’s competition is fierce, with Ajibade and Nnadozie vying for the top honor.
