Gbenga Daniel Remains Bona Fide APC Member – NWC

The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has confirmed that former Ogun State Governor and current Senator representing Ogun East, Otunba Gbenga Daniel, remains a bona fide member of the party.

This clarification follows allegations that Daniel and his associate, Kunle Folarin, were suspended for purported anti-party activities. While Governor Dapo Abiodun’s Chief Press Secretary, Lekan Adeniran, previously reaffirmed the suspension and warned against recognizing Daniel as a party member, the NWC has intervened.

In a letter dated November 17, 2025, and signed by National Secretary Surajudeen Basiru, the NWC stated that Daniel’s alleged suspension is yet to be deliberated upon, as required by the party constitution. The committee requested the Ogun State chapter to allow it to investigate the matter before any further public communication is issued.

Basiru noted: “Until the National Working Committee takes an informed decision on the suspension, Sen. Otunba Olugbenga Daniel remains a bona fide member of the party.”

Meanwhile, leaders across 103 wards in Ogun East had previously expressed support for Daniel, describing the alleged suspension as unconstitutional and invalid.
