Miss Universe runner-up, Chidimma Adetshina, has announced her decision to retire from pageantry.
In a recent interview with Silverbird TV, Adetshina revealed that her pageant journey has been a traumatic one. She shared that she is stepping away for personal reasons and will be relocating from South Africa to Nigeria.
“Finishing as the 1st runner-up at Miss Universe still feels surreal… Honestly, I’m done. Pageantry has been a deeply traumatic experience for me,” she expressed. “People don’t fully understand what I went through. There were moments during the Miss Universe competition when I almost quit. I’m done with pageantry. Now, I want to focus on myself, build my identity, and continue my education.”
After her remarkable achievement as the first runner-up at Miss Universe, Adetshina was named Miss Universe Africa and Oceania. She later won Miss Nigeria, after withdrawing from the Miss South Africa pageant due to controversy surrounding her nationality.
