Patna: Ahead of JD(U) supremo Nitish Kumar’s historic swearing-in as Bihar’s chief minister for a record 10th term, the state capital was adorned with hoardings and posters highlighting the work of the NDA government and celebrating its decisive victory in the recent assembly elections. The visual campaign went up across prominent locations in the city, signaling the ruling alliance’s intent to showcase its achievements and connect with the public on the eve of Kumar’s oath-taking ceremony.
From the airport to key city landmarks like the Income Tax Golambar, the posters featured NDA leaders alongside women, farmers, youth, and community mobilisers. They carried messages that highlighted the accomplishments of the “double-engine” government in sectors ranging from infrastructure and social welfare to economic development and governance initiatives. A prominent poster near the Income Tax Golambar congratulated Nitish Kumar for the alliance’s overwhelming win, with the slogan “Sanatan Dharma ki jeet” (victory of Sanatan Dharma) emblazoned across it.
At the state BJP office, two large hoardings featuring Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s photographs read: “Bihar ki janta ka aabhar, Ab aur raftar pakrega Bihar” (Gratitude to Bihar’s people, Bihar will gather more pace), reflecting the party’s focus on continuity of governance and accelerated development. Newly elected MLAs arriving at the BJP office were welcomed with bouquets and “tilak” ceremonies performed by groups of women party workers, creating a festive and celebratory atmosphere.
Similar displays of enthusiasm were seen at the JD(U) office, where Nitish Kumar was officially elected as the legislature party leader earlier on Wednesday. Party leaders and workers expressed confidence in continuing the developmental trajectory that the alliance has maintained over the years.
Speaking to reporters, State Road Construction Minister Nitin Nabin said, “Bihar is now set to march forward on the path of progress.” Vinay Bihari, the newly elected MLA from Lauriya in West Champaran district, described the mandate as a reflection of public trust in the NDA, stating, “We have registered a massive victory. This shows the trust of people in the NDA.”
Addressing the responsibilities that come with the mandate, party leaders emphasized commitment to governance and public service. BJP MLA Pramod Kumar, elected from Motihari, said, “The assembly poll results are for a progressing Bihar and rising Motihari. We will work to make Motihari crime-free.” State Revenue and Land Reforms Minister Sanjay Saraogi added, “This is a victory for Bihar. I will bear whatever responsibility the party has to offer me.” Neeraj Bablu, another BJP leader, highlighted the political significance of the mandate, remarking, “This massive mandate is a sign that people are willing to throw the RJD out of Bihar.”
The election results saw the NDA storm back to power in the 243-member Bihar Assembly, securing 202 seats. The BJP emerged with 89 seats, JD(U) won 85, LJP(RV) claimed 19, HAM bagged 5, and RLM secured 4 seats. The impressive victory underscores the electorate’s continued faith in the alliance’s governance model and development agenda.
As Patna prepares to witness the swearing-in ceremony at Gandhi Maidan, the city’s streets, office buildings, and public spaces painted a vivid picture of celebration, anticipation, and political pride. The hoardings, coupled with public engagement activities and a series of congratulatory messages from party leaders, reflect the NDA’s intent to consolidate its image as a government committed to progress, welfare, and responsive leadership.
In the run-up to the oath-taking, the state administration has also been coordinating with local authorities to manage logistics, security, and public gatherings, ensuring that the historic event is conducted smoothly while allowing citizens to participate in the festivities. Party officials say the visual campaigns and the on-ground celebrations are not just symbolic but also aim to remind the public of the NDA’s achievements in Bihar and the alliance’s promise for accelerated growth in the coming years.
