The Afenifere National Youths Council (ANYC) has condemned what it described as “Christian genocide,” rising terrorist attacks, and escalating insecurity across Nigeria, urging swift government action to protect citizens.
In a statement issued by National President Prince Eniola Ojajuni, the group expressed outrage over the recent attack on a Christ Apostolic Church (CAC) in Eruku, Kwara State, and the abduction of 25 schoolgirls in Kebbi State, during which their school principal was reportedly killed.
“These atrocities are unbearable and unacceptable,” the statement read. “The targeting of innocent civilians, especially children and worshippers, is a grave affront to humanity and a stain on our collective conscience. Immediate action from the government is imperative.”
The ANYC noted that communities in Benue and Plateau States continue to endure repeated attacks, while residents in the Federal Capital Territory now live in fear due to a growing wave of abductions.
Describing the Kwara church attack as a “wake-up call,” the youth council urged South-West governors to take urgent measures to secure their states before the crisis worsens.
“We urge the governors of the South West to act immediately. The ANYC will not tolerate any form of complacency or inaction in the face of this national crisis,” Ojajuni said.
The council also called on all Nigerians to unite against terrorism, demanding concrete and decisive government action to safeguard lives and ensure perpetrators are held accountable.
ANYC extended condolences to the families affected by the recent attacks and prayed for the safe return of all abducted persons.
