Popular Nigerian rapper Zlatan Ibile has explained why he chooses not to invest financially in emerging talents.
Speaking on the Adesope Live show, Zlatan said that supporting up-and-coming artistes is too risky, as he cannot be sure such investments would yield returns. He emphasised that his focus in the music industry is on business and financial stability.
“I would rather buy a house than put money into artistes whose success I cannot guarantee,” he said.
Zlatan also revealed that his main motivation for making music is to achieve financial security. “The reason I am making music is for financial stability. My goal is to be responsible and secure. Early in my career, I wasn’t balanced and suffered from pressure and anxieties,” he explained.
However, Zlatan clarified that he is open to collaborating with upcoming artistes, noting that he received similar support when starting out in the industry.
