The Archdiocese of Kaduna has dismissed rumors that the abducted Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal has been killed.
In a statement on Thursday, Rev. Fr. Christian Okewu Emmanuel, Chancellor of the Archdiocese, urged the public to ignore unverified reports circulating on social media.
“Our attention has been drawn to claims that Rev. Fr. Bobbo Paschal has been killed. We refute this completely. Fr. Paschal is still alive, and authorities are working toward his safe and immediate release,” the statement read.
Fr. Emmanuel also appealed to the public, bloggers, and social media users to avoid spreading unverified information, warning that such rumors can cause unnecessary panic, distress to the priest’s family, and hinder rescue efforts.
The Archdiocese expressed gratitude for the prayers and support from the faithful and urged everyone to continue praying for Fr. Paschal and other abducted victims.
“Any updates not issued through our official channels should be disregarded,” the statement added.
