The Federal Government of Nigeria has commenced user acceptance testing (UAT) for the National Single Window (NSW), a unified digital trade platform aimed at modernizing and streamlining the country’s trade processes. The platform is slated to become operational by March 2026.
The inaugural testing involved key regulatory and trade agencies, including NAQS, SON, NESREA, NCS, CRFFN, as well as importers, exporters, clearing agents, and freight forwarders. The session allowed stakeholders to test functionalities, validate workflows, and align expectations ahead of full deployment.
Minister of Finance, Wale Edun, and FIRS Executive Chairman, Dr. Zacch Adedeji, visited the UAT grounds to assess progress and engage with participating agencies, expressing satisfaction with the collaborative effort.
NSW aims to harmonize trade documentation, reduce clearance timelines from 21 to under seven days, cut logistics costs by 25–30%, and boost Nigeria’s competitiveness in the global market. The system, already adopted in countries like Singapore, South Korea, and Rwanda, is expected to empower SMEs, improve supply chain visibility, and simplify access to trade tools.
Vice President Kashim Shettima, representing President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, reaffirmed that NSW will fully align Nigeria with AfCFTA digital trade requirements, positioning the country as a leader in port automation and trade efficiency.
