Closeup Launches ‘Talking Stage Party’ to Help Young Nigerians Build Real Connections

Closeup has unveiled a new initiative designed to help young Nigerians move beyond the casual “talking stage” and foster more meaningful romantic relationships.

The Closeup Talking Stage Party, a first-of-its-kind social experience, made its debut in Owerri, Imo State, bringing together 25 couples for an evening of interactive games, music, laughter, and guided activities aimed at inspiring confidence, sparking conversations, and creating genuine bonds.

In an era where many relationships begin and end behind screens, Closeup—Nigeria’s leading toothpaste brand—created the initiative to encourage young adults aged 18 to 30 to step out of digital limbo and enjoy authentic, face-to-face interactions.

Speaking about the campaign, Twumasi Elvis, Marketing Manager for Closeup, said the brand aims to play a role in the real-life love stories of Nigerian youth.

“In a generation that is digitally connected yet still craving authenticity, Closeup wants to be a bridge—helping young people move past the awkwardness of the ‘talking stage’ into genuine moments of closeness. Owerri was the perfect launch, and we look forward to expanding to other cities,” he said.

With this initiative, Closeup reinforces its commitment to confidence and connection, supporting Nigerian youths as they express themselves boldly and cultivate relationships with fresh smiles and renewed assurance.
