Ogun Varsity Denies Campus Closure, Says No Bandit Invasion in Ijebu-Ode

The management of Tai Solarin University of Education (TASUED), Ijagun, Ogun State, has dismissed viral reports claiming the university had been shut down due to a purported bandit invasion in Ijebu-Ode.

According to the university, the reports are false, malicious, and misleading, aimed at causing unnecessary panic among students, staff, and the wider public.

Registrar and Secretary to Council, Dapo Oke, stated that no directive was issued for students to leave their hostels, and neither the Ijagun campus nor Ijebu-Ode was under attack.

“There was never a closure of the institution, nor were students asked to leave their hostels. The environment in Ijebu-Ode and Ijagun remains peaceful and safe. All staff and students are advised to continue their academic and lawful duties without anxiety,” he said.

The university urged the public to ignore unverified reports and rely only on official communication channels for credible updates. Academic and administrative operations are proceeding normally, and the safety and welfare of students remain a top priority.
