Yemi Remi Clarifies Controversies Surrounding Late Brother, Chief Kanran

Actor Yemi Remi has addressed several claims made by his late younger brother, veteran actor Chief Kanran, suggesting that Kanran misrepresented personal matters to the public to seek financial support.

Speaking in an interview with Agbaletu TV, Remi disputed multiple stories, including:

  • Claims about his wife’s death – Remi confirmed his brother had sent obituaries about his wife, which were false.
  • Reports of a burnt house and car – Remi said only a small plank staircase in front of the building was damaged; Kanran’s apartment was unaffected.
  • Age exaggeration – Kanran reportedly claimed he was 75, but he was actually 62, born in 1963.
  • Children – Kanran had four children with different women, but Remi noted that three had died despite earlier public declarations to the contrary.

Remi’s remarks aimed to set the record straight regarding the controversies that surrounded Chief Kanran before his death.
