Nigerian singer Kingsley Okonkwo, popularly known as Kcee, has shared the secret to his enduring success in the music industry.
Speaking on the Selah Meditate podcast, the Limpopo crooner explained that while some artists get discouraged when their songs don’t perform well, he responds by releasing more music. According to him, this increases the likelihood of landing a hit.
“Some of my colleagues can drop a song and if it doesn’t do well, they retreat and feel down. That can’t be me. I can drop 22 songs, maybe the 25th will be a hit. I don’t care, because consistency is key,” Kcee said.
The singer also reflected on the challenges he has faced, noting that people often overlook the struggles behind his flamboyant public persona.
He credited positive manifestation and vision for much of his success, recounting how he and his colleague E-Money once lived in Ajegunle but always spoke of living in Ikeja—an aspiration they later achieved.
“When me and E-Money were living in Ajegunle, if you asked us where we were living, we would say Ikeja. We weren’t lying or pretending; we were dreaming, prophesying into the future. And that was where we eventually moved to—and we dominated it,” he added.
Kcee’s approach underscores his belief in resilience, consistency, and envisioning success, even in the face of setbacks.
