Paystack Co-Founder Ezra Olubi Alleges Unfair Termination

Ezra Olubi, co-founder and former Chief Technology Officer of Paystack, has claimed that his dismissal from the company over allegations of sexual misconduct was unfair. He made the disclosure in a blog post published on Sunday, November 23, 2025.

The controversy began when Max “Makispoke” Obae accused Olubi of misogyny, sharing past grievances on an X Space. Additionally, old tweets from Olubi containing sexually explicit content resurfaced, triggering accusations including misogyny, predatory behavior, and other serious allegations.

Paystack initially suspended Olubi on November 12 and launched an investigation. However, Olubi stated that he was terminated before the investigation concluded and without a hearing, contrary to the company’s internal policies.

In his statement, Olubi said:

“I chose to remain silent during the investigation to avoid interfering with the process and expected a fair, unbiased review. Unfortunately, my silence created a vacuum that allowed misrepresentations to spread. My termination occurred without a meeting, hearing, or opportunity to respond.”

He emphasized that the resurfaced posts do not reflect his conduct or personal values, and he has always strived to conduct himself in a manner that respects others’ dignity and safety.

Olubi added that his legal team is reviewing the termination process to ensure it aligns with internal policies, and he will refrain from further public comments while this review is ongoing.

As of now, Paystack and its parent company, Stripe, have not made any public statements regarding Olubi’s claims or the termination.
