Bode George tells Atiku: “You’ve been running since 1993, it’s time to step down for the 2027 election.”

Chief Bode George, a prominent member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has urged former Vice President Atiku Abubakar to abandon any plans to run for president in the 2027 election.

Speaking to reporters in Ikoyi on Thursday, George pointed out that Atiku, who was the PDP’s presidential candidate in the 2023 election, has been contesting since 1993. He advised Atiku to end his 31-year-long pursuit of the presidency and embrace the role of an elder statesman for the sake of future generations.

In a viral video shared on social media, George emphasized that Atiku will be 81 years old by 2027, saying, “My advice to Atiku is this: You will be 81 in 2027, and you’ve been running for president since 1993. It’s time to step down, act as an elder, and let history take its course.”
