Company Refutes Claim Managing Director Was Remanded

Solicitors to property developer Ms. Uzoamaka Onukwubiri have debunked a viral social media report alleging that she was remanded at the Suleja Custodial Centre on charges of forgery.

In a statement issued by Chief Joel Okoli of Acacia Law Firm, the public was urged to disregard what he described as a “baseless and misleading publication” which began circulating over the weekend.

The viral report claimed that Onukwubiri, Managing Director of SOW Real Estate Nigeria, had been taken into custody over a criminal matter.
However, Okoli clarified that his client was never remanded and had in fact been granted bail, contrary to the circulating claims.

“As we speak, even on November 21 when the false report was trending, she slept in her home and has continued with her normal activities,” he stated.

He alleged that the publication was part of a coordinated smear campaign by competitors unsettled by SOW Real Estate’s rapid growth and achievements.

The law firm further distanced both Onukwubiri and SOW Real Estate from an individual mentioned in the false report. According to Okoli, neither the company nor its managing director has any link to a purported defence lawyer named ‘Joel Okoro’, who was falsely claimed to have represented them in court.

“For the record, SOW Real Estate Nigeria Ltd. is represented by Chief Joel A. N. Okoli, Esq., of Acacia Law Firm, who properly announced appearance in court,” the firm clarified.

Okoli noted that the criminal case referenced — FHC/ABJ/CR/205/2025 — is still pending before Justice Musa Liman of the Federal High Court in Abuja and has not yet been decided.

He condemned the circulation of the false report, describing it as “reckless, desperate, and defamatory,” and criticised any media outlet that published it without proper verification.

The firm urged the public to rely only on verified information and avoid being misled by unsubstantiated social-media claims.
