Damian Lillard Injury Update: Bucks Star Expected to Return from DVT in Crucial Game 2 vs. Pacers

Milwaukee Bucks guard Damian Lillard is reportedly set to make his return in Game 2 of the NBA Playoffs against the Indiana Pacers after missing over a month due to deep vein thrombosis (DVT) in his right calf. According to ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Bucks will welcome Lillard back Tuesday night in a pivotal matchup as they try to even the first-round series.

Lillard has not played since March 18, when he was later diagnosed with deep vein thrombosis — a serious condition involving a blood clot in a deep vein, often treated with blood thinners. At the time, the Bucks did not provide a clear timetable for his recovery, sparking concern about his playoff availability.

With just 11 games left in the regular season at the time of the announcement, Lillard’s postseason status was uncertain. However, the All-Star guard has made significant progress, and now looks set to suit up at a critical moment for Milwaukee.

Lillard’s return is a major boost for the Bucks, who trail the Pacers 1-0 in the series. The seven-time All-Star averaged 24.9 points and 7.1 assists over 58 regular-season games. His presence will relieve pressure from superstar forward Giannis Antetokounmpo, who dropped 36 points in a tough 117-98 loss in Game 1.

As Milwaukee looks to avoid a daunting 0-2 series hole, all eyes will be on Lillard’s performance and how his return from DVT impacts the Bucks’ playoff hopes. If he’s close to full strength, his scoring and playmaking could be the difference-maker in the Bucks vs Pacers Game 2.
