Gov. Sule Explains Unwavering Gratitude to President Tinubu Over Federal Support

SULE

Nasarawa State Governor, Abdullahi Sule, has opened up on the reasons behind his frequent public expressions of appreciation to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, attributing them to the President’s consistent support for developmental projects and interventions in the state. The governor made this revelation during a recent media interaction held at the Government House in Lafia.

Governor Sule, known for repeatedly acknowledging President Tinubu’s assistance during public speeches and government functions, said his gratitude stems from both political loyalty and the undeniable benefits Nasarawa State has received under the current federal administration.

Acknowledging Impactful Federal Support

While addressing journalists, the governor stated, “Some people ask why I always thank Mr. President, and I tell them it’s because I have seen and felt the impact of his leadership. He is not just making promises; he is fulfilling them, especially in states like ours.”

Governor Sule cited several projects and initiatives facilitated by the Tinubu-led federal government in Nasarawa, including infrastructural developments, agricultural support, social investment programs, and security reinforcement across sensitive areas in the state.

According to him, some of these interventions have directly improved the livelihoods of rural dwellers and boosted the state’s internal development efforts.

Agricultural Boost and Infrastructure Expansion

One of the major areas the governor pointed to is agriculture, which remains the mainstay of Nasarawa’s economy. He highlighted the federal government’s recent provision of improved seedlings, mechanized farming tools, and fertilizer subsidies to farmers in the state through initiatives under the Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security.

“In the last planting season alone, thousands of smallholder farmers in Nasarawa received timely support from the federal government,” Sule said. “This has led to increased productivity and better food security in our local government areas.”

He also acknowledged the commencement of federal road construction projects connecting Nasarawa to neighboring states such as Benue and Plateau, noting that the efforts have improved economic activities and reduced transportation stress for commuters and traders.

Renewed Hope Projects in the North Central Region

Governor Sule aligned himself with the broader objectives of President Tinubu’s “Renewed Hope Agenda,” which seeks to revamp infrastructure, empower vulnerable populations, and enhance governance across the federation.

He mentioned that Nasarawa has been listed among the beneficiary states in the upcoming phase of federal housing schemes aimed at addressing Nigeria’s housing deficit. He commended the President for including the state in national plans, which he said reflects inclusiveness and strategic thinking.

“We have seen that the Renewed Hope Agenda is not just a slogan. It is being translated into action, and Nasarawa is not left behind,” he said.

Security and Stability in Focus

On security, Governor Sule expressed appreciation for the federal government’s deployment of additional troops and intelligence support to curb banditry and farmer-herder clashes in parts of the state.

He acknowledged that while challenges remain, the synergy between federal security agencies and local vigilante groups has significantly improved the safety of communities in conflict-prone zones.

“Security is the foundation of any development. President Tinubu has been responsive in this area, and I must thank him for always listening to our concerns,” Sule added.

Political Loyalty and National Unity

Beyond development, Governor Sule also referenced his personal and political loyalty to President Tinubu, recalling their longstanding relationship dating back to his early days in politics.

“As a governor and a member of the APC, it is both my duty and conviction to support and appreciate the leadership of our President,” he said. “He is building a Nigeria we can all be proud of, and I believe we owe him our collective support.”

He urged other governors and leaders across political divides to focus on collaboration rather than criticism, stating that Nigeria’s current challenges demand unity and purposeful leadership.

Citizens React to Governor’s Remarks

Governor Sule’s consistent praises have drawn mixed reactions from the public. While many appreciate his acknowledgment of federal support, others argue that elected officials must go beyond gratitude to demand more accountability and action for their people.

In response, Sule maintained that appreciation does not equate to silence or complacency. “Being thankful does not mean we don’t speak truth to power. It means we recognize effort where it is due, and we continue to engage the federal government for more.”

Looking Ahead

As Nasarawa continues to pursue economic growth and stability, Governor Sule reaffirmed his commitment to deepening cooperation with the federal government. He pledged to sustain reforms and attract investments that would benefit the people of the state.

“Our journey is far from over, but we are on the right path,” he concluded. “With the support of President Tinubu and the resilience of our people, we will continue to build a Nasarawa that is stronger, safer, and more prosperous.”
