Rauf Aregbesola, National Secretary of the African Democratic Congress (ADC), has declared that the ruling government will be unable to manipulate the upcoming elections, insisting that he is well aware of their tactics.

He made the statement on Tuesday during the unveiling of the ADC in Osogbo, noting that the day coincided with the 15th anniversary of his administration in Osun State, an occasion he described as symbolic.

Aregbesola emphasized that his party offers a viable alternative to tackling Nigeria’s pressing issues, including insecurity, maladministration, poverty, hunger, and poor governance.

“Today marks the 15th year since we took office in Osun State, sworn in at this very location. They cannot rig the election—we know their tactics,” he said.

He urged supporters to focus on mobilizing communities, particularly elderly women, on election day:

“Go and take good care of elderly women, clothe them well, let them be present at different polling units, and leave the rest to us. God has shattered the present government and even the government at the center. They have been disgraceful in the economy, security, and governance.”

Aregbesola also expressed confidence in the ADC’s growing support, predicting that the party will take over the presidency after August next year.

“Our achievements and legacies in Osun continue to speak for us. That is why we receive such warm reception anytime we come here, particularly in Osogbo,” he said.
