SWAN President Urges NSC to Turn Sports Resolutions into Action

The National President of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN), Mr. Isaiah Benjamin, has called on policymakers and stakeholders at the ongoing 2nd National Council on Sports in Calabar to ensure that decisions taken on sports business are backed by political will and effective implementation.

The week-long conference, themed “The Business of Sports: Creating Jobs, Wealth and Utility Under the Renewed Hope Agenda,” seeks to explore strategies for strengthening Nigeria’s sports industry.

Speaking to sports journalists on the sidelines, Benjamin expressed confidence in the quality of discussions so far.

“All the issues being discussed, if properly implemented, have the potential to galvanise and improve our sporting and allied sectors,” he said.

He added that a communiqué summarising the key resolutions of the council is expected at the conclusion of the event.

Benjamin stressed that the successful execution of these resolutions could mark a turning point for the sports industry, particularly in football.

He also urged the National Sports Commission to work diligently to tackle the challenges that have long hindered sports business and development in the country.
