Alijah Arenas, USC Commit, Induced into Coma After Fiery Tesla Crash Outside His Home

Alijah Arenas, the son of former NBA star Gilbert Arenas and a top USC basketball commit, is in stable condition after a terrifying crash early Thursday morning. Video obtained by TMZ shows the dramatic scene where Arenas’ Tesla Cybertruck was engulfed in flames after crashing into a fire hydrant and tree near his home in San Fernando Valley, California.

The crash occurred around 5 a.m. on Corbin Avenue. Neighbors quickly rushed to the scene, where the Chatsworth High School senior was reportedly pulled from the burning vehicle by Good Samaritans before emergency services arrived. Witnesses described a fiery wreck, with smoke and flames visible as fire hydrants spewed water onto the car.

Arenas, who had been participating in the McDonald’s All American Games and is a highly ranked basketball prospect, was filmed on the ground, visibly in pain. He was later placed on a stretcher and transported to a nearby hospital.

Authorities have not officially confirmed the identity of the individual involved in the crash, but TMZ Sports reported that the person was an 18-year-old male, and the Los Angeles Police Department confirmed the crash involved a Cybertruck.

Alijah Arenas was reportedly induced into a coma as part of the protocol for smoke inhalation, though he is said to be in stable condition. His family and friends have rallied around him as they await further updates on his recovery.
