No fewer than 957 delegates from the 30 local government areas and the Modakeke area office have commenced voting to select the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) candidate for the 2026 Osun State governorship election.

The exercise comes less than 12 hours after Adeleke reportedly left the party amid an internal crisis.

Hon. Theophilus Shan, the National Organising Secretary of the PDP, confirmed that the primary election would proceed as scheduled.

The Chairman of the Primary Committee, Mr. Humphery Abba, noted that out of 990 delegates, 957 were accredited for the exercise.

Voting is ongoing with officials from the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), including the Resident Electoral Commissioner, Dr. Mutiu Agboke, and security operatives present to ensure a smooth process.
