Lagos to Host Maiden Foods and Culture Festival – Minister Musawa

Lagos State is set to host its first-ever Foods and Culture Festival, Minister of Art, Culture, Tourism, and Creative Economy, Hannatu Musa-Musawa, announced on Tuesday.

Scheduled for December 16–17, 2025, at the cricket pitch, Tarawa Balewa Square, the festival is a collaboration between the Ministry and Irabor Creative Minds. It aims to showcase Nigeria’s rich cultural heritage and culinary diversity while promoting economic growth, job creation, and national unity.

Briefing journalists ahead of the event, Musawa said, “This flagship festival promises to be an unforgettable celebration of Nigeria’s creativity, culture, and cuisine. It reflects our commitment to harness the power of art, culture, and tourism to drive economic development and foster national cohesion.”

She also praised President Bola Tinubu for supporting the arts and creative economy, noting that Lagos, as the country’s hub of creativity, is the ideal launch point for the initiative. “While Lagos is not all of Nigeria, it is the perfect place to begin culturally promoting our creative economy during Detty December,” she added.

The festival is expected to attract visitors from across the country, offering immersive experiences in Nigerian food, art, and traditional performances.
